Great changes have taken place in enterprise environment since there is fast development in the globalization of world's economy and scientific technology. Enterprise must adjust itself in new situations in order to live and develop. In this age of knowledge, renovation of knowledge and techniques has spread to various walks of life; learning quickly and adjusting to the changes have become the employees'urgent affairs. Affiliating WTO, Chinese enterprises in the globalization of economy must promote its core competency to develop in the markets abroad and domestic. Nowadays many developing enterprises have been seriously lacking capable employees, some of which are even in a very shortage. Management efficiency is not high and Chinese enterprises are also lacking in core techniques and creative abilities, which is the conditions a sustainable development must possess. The foreign enterprises have set up corporate university to solve the similar problems. At the present time, corporate university has developed a lot in developed countries and it indeed brings essential advantages. Therefore, researches and establishments on corporate university concern not only our enterprises'sustainable development but also our national competitive ability. This is the motivation and purpose of this paper.The thesis borrows basic theories from management science, stratagem management, economics to have a systematic study on the relationship between corporate university and core competency from the point of theory and demonstration based on the present researches abroad and domestic. Firstly, a brief introduction of Chinese enterprises is given to illustrate the significance of this study. Looking back on the studying history and present situation of corporate university and core competency, the thesis analyses the concept, stratagem function and the successful elements of corporate university.Secondly, the thesis discusses the relationship between corporate university and its core competency constructing a theoretic model of the two.Finally, the thesis has a demonstration research on the corporate university and enterprise core competency through factor analysis and SEM, finding out they having a direct correlative relationship.
