Now, agglomeration economy has become the most interesting regional economic theory in the world, and it is regarded as the engine of regional economic growth. It is not only the major source of competitive advantage of the developed country and affluent areas, but also the important strategic tool by which the less developed regions develop by leaps and bounds and catch up with advanced countries and regions. The western of china is currently hovering at a period of economic growth. The growth model of relying on policy support and investment is beginning to bottleneck. The introduction of agglomeration economy fills the gap, and it has important guiding significance for the next development of the western. The premise of using the theory to guide the development of the western region is to know the current economic agglomeration of the western, which is the paper to do.The paper uses a series of indexes to measure regional agglomeration, and estimates urban agglomeration with Carlino model and Segal extension model. Although the above analysis could reflect the whole agglomeration of the western, but not sure of the exact location of the western agglomeration. Then, according to the space statistical theory, the part of three statistic the agglomeration of economic growth in national, the western and two economic zones of western, reflect the cluster and differences of the western economic growth.Whether a region becomes gathering and the dominated, multiplier, spillover effects of agglomeration all depend on the industry to realize. Therefore the recognition of the western industrial clustering is an integral part of measuring the western economic agglomeration. The part IV of the paper statistics the western industrial cluster by location quotient, space gini coefficient and industries concentration ratio. The paper makes use of a variety of statistical methods to measure the western agglomeration economy comprehensively from the perspective of region, Metro, economic zones and industrial. Finally, several proposals are put forward to promote development of the western according to the empirical results of the paper and the current situation of the western.
