With the rapid development of globalization process, china'economy has integrated itself into the further Competitions in the worldmarket. The extensive growth of trade in rising will be inevitable to slowdown, for the severe exposure of the contradictions and problems incurrent economy. Then it's an important research on the transformation ofgrowth pattern of international trade in china today.It is in fact a growth pattern of trade that pursuing sustainablegrowth of benefits of trade, which means the competitive advantages (CA)of industries filled with firms in open economy keep accumulating. Thecontinuous development of industries, is up to the ability and rate ofinnovation. So it is very urgent at present for us to acquire the innovativeability that is the just source of the evolution of CA, especially to achievethe innovation-oriented CA. In view of this, the dissertation studies thedynamic progress and mechanism of the evolvement of CA of thedeveloping countries, takes the development history of China economy asa research subject, with a vision of porter's competitive advantage theory, "new new" Firm theory and innovation economics. And the results showthat china has come to a development stage of technicalefficiency-oriented CA, which is verified as a transition period ofinnovation-oriented CA.An outline of the dissertation is as follows. In Section 1, it presentsthe background and significance of the research, introduced the brief andinnovation of the dissertation. Section 2 gives a definition of CA and asummary of the research of domestic and foreign scholars to CA. ThenSection 3, with the application of an analysis method based on theindustrial chain and an analytical framework of "diamond model",analyzes on the evolutionary mechanism of CA of the developingcountries in the global producing system, develops a "four-stage-leap"CA model, and discusses the relation between cost-based structuralbreaking and CA change, researches on the basic modal and the technicalselection mechanism of the innovation-oriented CA induced by trade.Section 4 is an empirical study of the development of the CA of China'sindustry utilizing trade data and the Malmquist productivity index basedon the DEA. Finally, Section 5 is a brief conclusion of the dissertation,pointing out the direction of the following research.
