Sport hunting activity is an emergent industry. Sport hunting activity of our countrystarted in 1980s. This sport in our country is still at the initial stage and still has a lot ofdifficulties and deficiencies, compared with some western countries. This thesis will analyzethe foundation and development of sport hunting activity of our country as an industry, anddiscuss the ecological and economic feasibility of sport hunting activity in our country, thenprovide some theories for government to decide and administrate.The author has go through a lot of references both domestic and abroad, summarize thedevelopment history and the circumstance of legislation status, compared the sport huntingactivity with other countries. Based on the fact of the animal resources and policies of ourcountry and followed the advanced experience of abroad, the author points out the deficiencyof the hunting administration and legislation status, and gives a series of suggestions.According to the ecological theory about development of species and the characteristics ofsport hunting activity, the author investigates the annual status about sport hunting activity ofour country and the change situation about animal resources in some hunting regions. From theangle of ecology, rational hunting activity can replace a portion of natural death rate by huntingdeath rate, and this way of elimination is good to the development of species and has littleinfluence to the quantity of species. Our country has abundant wild animal resources, but theannual hunting quantity is very low, and it did not have blight to the species, moreover thequantities of some species have increased very fast in recent years, because of the protectionstrengthening, and there has been comparatively large space for hunting.At present, most of the hunters are foreigners. For the purpose of investigating thepotential hunters of our country and evaluating the development of the sport hunting activity inChina, the author makes questionnaires in Harbin,Changsha,Guangdong, and comprehendthe potential hunting population. By analyzing the data obtained by investigation, the authorconcludes that the potential demands for hunting activity in our country have emerged, and aportion of hunters already have the economic capacity for hunting activity as the economy andsociety continuously developing.This thesis reveals the huge profit of sport hunting activity via analyzing the profit ofhunting activity latest years of our country and the management characteristics of sport huntingactivity. Hunting the wild animal can bring hundreds times economic revenue than eating thevery same creature. Although hunting scale is small in our country, it still brings considerableincome for our country and the people living in those hunting zones. In the past 20 years, ourcountry has received 1101 person-time of international hunters, and 1347 wild animals has been hunted, and the hunting revenue has reached $3639 in total and still increasing.So, with appropriate management, sport hunting can be developed in a reasonable mannerin China and it can be bring a lot of zoological benefeit and economical benefit. This study is agood academic basis for animal manage apartment to develop sport hunting actively.
