Research On How To Promote Investment Banking Services For Commercial Banks Of China

From the last decade of 20th century, several countries, like Britain, Japan and America, they continually aborted relevant separated-operation policies in financial industry, the world's financial industry enters into an era of mixed-operation. With the development of globalization, especially for those sectors specialized in financial area, China's banking industries and other services area are more and more influenced by "mixed-operation". By the end of 2006, banking industry in China had entirely opened the gate to those banking corporations from overseas. Foreign banking groups are accelerating steps forward into China's domestic financial industry. If the Chinese commercial banks just maintain their efforts on upgrading the limited banking services for customers, they have the chance to lose market shares from existed taking-up in the competition with foreign banks. Commercial banks in China should enlarge their business area especially the inv(?)tment banking services for further developing.In this article, firstly, we analysed the trend of development regarding to Chinese domestic financial industry, and relevant legalization and regulations. Futhermore, income datas are abstracted from the annual report of several global banking groups, also to be analysed as the background resources for further understanding.Secondly, this article put more effects on analysing the bank income statements, based on 15 China commercial banks' 2006 annual reports, in order to make sure their positioning strategy in the market and its futher targeting area regarding to its business expending.Thirdly, highlight either advantages and disadvantages on commercial banks of China, relating to the area of money supply, customers and branches, also futher outline the limitation and the way of improving.Finally, this article made the suggestion on the method of how to avoid financial risk, and how the improvement on organizational structure in terms of commercial banks of China should typically be made. Also the steps of how to develop investment banking services had been suggested with the process of risk management.
