Since China embarked on the path of reform and opening-up, the Yangtze River Delta is always leader in economy development in the whole country, whose GDP and annual income per capita increase more quickly than other districts. But during the process, industrial similarities emerges in the Delta, which contain the desired similarities resulting from the market competing of various industries and the undesired similarities resulting from governments' leapfrogging industrial-developing strategies. The influences of the two different industrial similarities need to be researched seriously. Although many researchers are concentrating on the industrial similarity, especially the Yangtze River Delta's, statistically, most of them are based on the three industry division to calculate the similarities roughly without considering the heterogeneities of the subdividing industries and discovering the reason of industrial similarities which are useful to make the policy advices. Depending on the theories in Industrial Economics, International Economics, Econometrics and Statistics, the thesis has researched the Yangtze River Delta's industrial similarities with a brand-new view basing on the foregoing studies. Firstly, according to the subdivision in industry, the thesis had determined the existence of the industrial similarity by calculating the similarity coefficients and location quotients. Then, relying on the Factor Endowment Theory, it use the cluster analysis belonging to Statistics to classify the different industrial similarities. The last but not the least, it examined the effects of the various similarities to the districts' economy by using a multi-regression model including a dummy variable and give some policy advices correspondingly and relevantly.
