A Study Of Exhibition Industry Based On Yangtze Delta

After years of development, Yangtze delta has become the sixth biggest municipal group of the world. The Exhibition industry has been held as one of the major industries by many cities because of its great effect to other related industries and image of the city. But in the Yangtze delta area, there is still fierce competition among the cities. It is a big problem how to develop their comparative advantage and their own Exhibition industry based on that. And it is still a white space in this aspect. In this paper, in the first few chapters , the paper puts forward the grey correlative analysis method as the base of location quotient and conduct an empirical analysis on the cities in Yangtze delta area in view of the insufficiency of the similar coefficient methods analysis and the location quotient methods traditionally. Through this method we found that the hierarchical structure of the Yangtze delta area and their own characteristic. And because the fact summarize from the history and foreign experience, we know that at the beginning Exhibition industry has close relationship with the location's comparative advantage. So we can develop a plan for each city for its Exhibition industry's development. At the last part of the paper, we give out some suggestions for the future development of shanghai's Exhibition industry including some policies for shanghai government.
