A Study Into Housing Problem For Temporary Resident Population Of Urumqi City

As China's industrialization and urbanization process pushing forward comprehen- sively, more and more rural people who will be a temporary resident population of city will enter the cities, meanwhile the reform of China's household registration system is still in the pilot stage, and not in full swing, so more of them live as migrant rural works of the city. Housing as a place to call home, if they have house or not, if housing quality is good, reflects the merits of the quality of life on the one hand, on the other hand it reflects the social and public resources, a measure of equitable distribution.Based on the index of China's current housing problems of vulnerable groups highlighting, the background of building a harmonious society, the analysis and summary of the theory and practice home and abroad, this paper gives a descriptive analysis and a deep discussion to the housing conditions and housing will of temporary floating population of Urumqi City, using a large number of data from field research. It uses Logistic model which based on the slums'incidence of temporary floating population and the comparison analysis between the quality of the temporary household population and floating population and draws a conclusion that the key reason affected the slums'incidence of temporary floating population is their population characteristics, followed with economic characteristics; the housing quality of floating population is about 0.67 times the quality resident population in Urumqi City. It also uses PSR (pressure - the state - respond) model and regression to analyze the relationship between temporary floating population and housing market and draws a conclusion that middle and high-income population brings challenges and opportunities on the housing market. Therefore it need to establish a housing security system which has wide range benefit, sound system, sustainable and balanced development, balanced supply and demand and measures adjusting to the local condition, but the task to build and improve it is quite arduous.
