The main purpose of electric power market reform is through the introduction competition, realizing the resources optimization to dispose and to use, so as to provide a cheaper and more reliable electric power for the society. Our country's electric power market reform started from the mid-1990s. Through foreign power market theories and practical experience, our country carried on the reorganization of assets and the experiment in some province, and gradually formed an electric market to have power generation companies participate in the competition in the day-ahead electric market primarily. How to determine the most superior price strategy to obtain the biggest profit according to the unit performance in the day-ahead electric power market, which is the problem and challenge faced by the electricity generation company.Firstly, this paper introduces the development of the evolution game theory and the evolutionarily stable strategy, and other related concepts, and after having analyzed the other day the electric power market operation mechanism and the electricity generation private costs function, this paper establishes a price decision-making strategy for the electricity generation company. Then according to the day-ahead electric power market's characteristic and the electricity generation enterprise's gambling characteristic, this paper has selected one of the typical evolution models―a duplication dynamic model. On the basis of certain assumptions, we obtained two types of power generation enterprises'evolutionary game of the gain matrix, and further solved the duplication dynamic model in simplified form. At last by unifying the East China's day-ahead electric power market situation, the electricity generation company's price decision-making strategy is carried on the empirical analysis, which reveals that the market demand and the price-cap on power companies have influence on pricing strategy.The empirical analysis indicated: When the electric power supplies are anxious, the electricity generation enterprise will use the high price strategy; When the electric power supplies are abundant, the electricity generation enterprise will act according to the different market condition to carry on the selective quoted price at last. When price-cap is high, the electricity generation enterprise will tend to select high price; When price-cap reduces, probability of selecting high price will also reduce. The function of price-cap to limit the price's rise is remarkable.On the basis of analysis in company's evolution game behavior in the day-ahead electric power market, this paper creatively utilized the duplication dynamic model to carry on the empirical analysis. This research provided the theory instruction for the electricity generation company to realize the biggest profit by the evolution game strategy, for the advancement of our country electric power reform, for management of the market supervisor.
