In the tech enterprises, the competence of which rely on the knowledge and capability of employees more and more.Effective performance appraisal system, scientific motivation system, and employees' career management are the important foundation for attracting excellent talents, motivating employees, and keeping improving competences of enterprise constantly. Only in the process of innovation of system, enterprise system gradually establishs a performance-based appraisal system and rewarding incentive system, and paid close attention to the career development in order to gain the competitive advantage and the initiative in the talent market. It is critically important for companies to found a consummate system of employee performance appraisal system. Any important decision in the management and the development of human resource must be connected with performance appraisal. Performance appraisal is the core function of human resource management. So the author expects to design a performance appraisal system to fit for Petrochina Lanzhou Petrochemical Research Center by the realities of Petrochina Lanzhou Petrochemical Research Center in which the author works now, analyzing the internal performance appraisal system in Petrochina Lanzhou Petrochemical Research Center and mastering the related basic theories of performance appraisal.The first part of this thesis introduces the goal, the content, the means and the process of the design of the performance appraisal system.The second part of this thesis mainly introduces the realities of Petrochina Lanzhou Petrochemical Research Center, the problems existing in today's performance appraisal system in Petrochina Lanzhou Petrochemical Research Center, and how these problems influence the whole performance of Petrochina Lanzhou Petrochemical Research Center.The third part of the thesis mainly introduces that , by the foundation of diagnosis of the employee performance appraisal system, how Petrochina Lanzhou Petrochemical Research Center redesigns the goal, the standards, the means, the principles, and the process of the petrochina lanzhou petrochemical research center.The forth part of this thesis assesses the effect of a new performance appraisal system , analyses the characteristics and the shortages of the new performance appraisal system, and gives the improvement plan to provide reference to the companies in the same industry.
