With the increasing development of global economy,a large number of scholars are concerning about standards and the role of standardization. Industry standardization which is based on technology patent,becomes an important impetus to control the market and change the profit structure. On the one hand, standards increase the conversion technology. Technical standardization is increasingly becoming the commanding height of international competition. On the other hand, By the increase of the technical barriers in international trade,technology standardization is becoming the important way of protecting their domestic industries. So this paper is concern to analysis the mechanism of standardization for the industry value chain in the formation and management of the industry value chain.The methods which this paper uses are the combination of theoretical derivation and case demonstration. It also analyzes the issues which the paper research. Firstly, the paper briefly exposit the theory of standards and standardization process from the formation of standards and standard effects. The analysis about the standard effects emphasizes three aspects. They are the protection effect of technology standardization for the Intellectual property of enterprises or groups, the direct and indirect network effect after the birth of standards and the technology lock-in effect of mainstream standards for specific industries. Secondly, from the drive mechanism and governance pattern of the industry value chain, the paper in-depth analysis the infection and effect of standard to the industry value chain. Since the implementation of standards, the entire system of industry value chain accelerated divided into modules and product knowledge module. Each module communication and transfer through standardized interface. This has produced two results:One is the increase of the production segment in industry chain. The other is the reduction of the cost insider trading. The paper uses the cost-receipts theory and the game theory. By contrast with the non industry standard constraint value chain, we can make a conclusion that in the Industry chain, the upstream firms which are driven by producers and the downstream firms which driven by purchaser both control the price of the products through standards. By this way, they can control the trend of the entire industry value in order to realize their own profit maximization and acquire the optimal allocation of the value. The stronger the manufacturers have controlled the standards, the more value they'll acquire. Furthermore, the LCD TV industry and Toy industries which are chosen to validate the theories. Finally,combining the results of theoretical research and empirical analysis,the paper raises the strategic positioning and specific measures for strategic implementation of standardization in China.
