Abstract/Summary:
Regional integration is a process whereby boundaries between nation-states become less discontinuous, thus leading to the formation of more comprehensive systems. Economic integration consists in the linking up and merging of the industrial apparatus, administration and economic policies of participating countries, combining previously separated economies into larger arrangements.Therefore economic integration can be defined as the movement of several countries to enhance their mutual economic ties, leading to the growth of the overall economic activity, spanning national and regional boundaries. The process can be informal and does not necessarily require formal agreements. It can be seen as market-driven. It manifests itself through the increased trade flows of goods and services and, in the area of investment, the movement of tangible and intangible forms of capital, such as finance, technology and the ownership or control of assets. Economic integration requires the appropriate government policies and behavior, in particular the liberalization of trade and FDI regimes, the deregulation of financial markets and the promotion of domestic competition, as well as the developments of infrastructure, notably transportation and communications.Nowadays, world economy are emerging the development trend of global economic integration. Although regional economic integration is part of global economic integration, its effect on international trade is tremendous. As a dominant country in international trade, China must be very earnest about the issue of regional economic integration, if not China may be on the hip in the fierce international trade. Aiming at this kind of situation, methods such as qualitative analysis and ration verification are used in this article, focusing on regional economic integration about East Asia and the influence on international trade of China.Here in this thesis, five parts are included. Firstly some basic ideas and theories about regional economic integration are referred. After this, some full-blown economic unions are analyzed, involving their heuristic procedure, relative merits and their foreground, so some experiences of developing regional economic are concluded. Then, in the third part, with the experiences, the feasibility of developing regional economic integration about China is referred. The result of analysis is that some objective conditions in East Asia are necessary for developing regional economic, which can benefit the improvement of regional economic integration. In the fourth part, at first, the influence of regional economic integration about East Asia on international trade of China is analyzed according to some bilateral trade data between China and some other important countries in East Asia, showing that international trade of China has improved a lot accompanying the development of regional economic integration in East Asia, in which unitary linearity econometric model is included and also proves the result; secondly the future of regional economic integration about East Asia and some probable influence on China are referred. In the last part, there are some advices about the response to regional economic integration about East Asia.In this thesis we make following conclusion: by creating East Asia Regional economic integration China will be positively impacted. We can see the recent condition, existing Regional economic in East Asia made China increased their trade volume performance. By joining the regional economic, China obtains many positive economic impacts. From the annually statistical data we find that China trade volume in East Asia regional is increasing significantly by year to year and the changes is fairly high compare to other regional economic. Regional economic also have positive and negative implication to every country included in the regional economic, China absolutely need to join East Asia regional economic to support their trade growth, and vice versa East Asia regional also need China as a giant trading country to be one of the member. There are some advice that government should concern about to create a new policy; pay much attention to absolutely potential products development, to improve excellent product, to found product controller and research department, preventing economic impact from other countries. For industries, China should quickly adopted international standard economic system, improving their understanding in international law and regulations, increasing Foreign Direct Investment in other countries, increasing China domestic competitiveness. Even though implementing regional economic in East Asia region is not an easy job because a very different culture between country, historical problem, but if every country want to seriously concern and pay attention to regional economic condition, I think in the future East Asia regional economic integration will be success.
