The performance structure of scientific research personnel is the theoretical foundation of doing performance assessment, it is not only one of the most important part of present performance research, but also the basic theory research of scientific research personnel's research. This paper discussed the performance structure of them using demonstration method.This paper follows following research clue: theory constructionâ†'hypothesisâ†'validationâ†'theory correction and conformity.During the process of theory construction, firstly, we put forward the significance of performance research for basic scientific research personnel. Then, list problems this paper being about to discuss after literature summarization, i.e., discuss performance structure model of basic scientific research personnel. Thirdly, put forward hypotheses on the basis of deep interview and opening questionnaire. As to their job performance, it contains task performance, personal trait performance, interpersonal performance and adaptive performance. This hypothesis derives from personnel psychology's partition to individual performance scale which holds the opinion of individual performance is multi-scale.During the process of theory hypothesis validation, we did opening survey for part scientific research personnel to get behavior items, meanwhile, interview them on key incidents to get further behavior items, then, listed "behavior item list" refer to certain structure questionnaire, finishing content valid adjustment, revert items to keep their original meanings, form questionnaire. In quality research, forecast the questionnaire, expurgate and send out the fixed questionnaire. Inviting 800 scientific research personnel as participants, this paper used factor measure to exam hypotheses.Using qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, interview method, questionnaire, expert assessment and statistical method, the results showed: (1) Basic scientific personnel performance contains four scales: task performance, personal trait performance, interpersonal performance and adaptive performance. (2) Questionnaire contains 16 items, its valid is excellent. (3) Hypothesis depict data well, and get the best model.
