| Ping Xiang Coal Mine is an old mine with a history of more than 100 years.It played an brilliant role in modern Chinese mineral history. Till 1890, Ping Xiang Coal Mine was in a confused state-both in exploiting and running. Then,Zhangzhidong had founded Han Yang Steel Plant,which needed coal urgently. The moment Shengxuanhuai had taken over Hang Yang Steel Plant, he did his bid to developed Ping Xiang Coal Mine by offering labors and sufficient fund. In addition, he built railways that connected Han Yang Steel Plant and Ping Xiang. In 1908, Shengxuanhuai integrated Han Yang Steel Plant,Da Ye Steel Plant,Ping Xiang CoalMine into a large united steel company--Hang Ye Ping Company across one rivertwo bands and three cities finally came into being. In order to find a way out, the managers of Ping Coal Mine tried state-owned , privately-owned, and united modes. Due to its bad management, heavy debt owed Japan, and chaos caused by special political situation at that time, Ping Coal Mine went weaker and weaker. |
