Since reform and opening-up, foreign trade of shanghai has developede rapidly. In 2006, the total amount of exports and imports of shanghai was 227.489 billion dollars and has ranked 3 in the country. As the increase of total amount of foreign trade, Shanghai's export product structure is changing very greatly and presenting a tendency of fast development and highly upgrade. And in 2002 it experienced the leap that the labor intensive products as the principal export products turned into the export of capital-technology intensive products as the principal export products. Compared to the developed-trade countries and regions, however, there are also many problems with Shanghai's export product structure. What are the influence factors of export product structure upgrading and how to accelerate the further upgrading of export product structure, are the main research content of this thesis.Based on this purpose, this thesis analyses the influence factors of export product structure upgrading through theory and empirical from the four factors: the structure of factors of shanghai; human capital; foreign direct investment (FDI); technology progress to show the influence of each factor on Shanghai's export product structure upgrading.In the finality, on the basis of the empirical analysis and using Japanese and Korean good experience and according to the 11th "five-year plan" of Shanghai, thesis puts forward several advices that are propitious to further upgrading of Shanghai's export product structure which include boosting the accumlation of human capital, construting the High-tech Development Zone, encouraging FDI, as well as catching hold of the chance of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.
