The Change Of Technical Structure Of China’s Export Products And Its Influencing Factors

Since the joined to the WTO, Chinese export trade scale is continued to be expanded, but affected by global market demand factors, expanding trade scale cannot continue to bring more profit to China’s trade, so China’s export products structure need to be optimized urgently. It has important theoretical significance and practical significance to study how to change the technical structure of China’s export products, its influence factors, the proportion of the national property and the path of upgrading.In this paper, using the data from UN COMTRADE database and the world bank database to measure the products’technology export complexity of China and other 12 countries export product structure complexity. Based on the analysis of China’s export product structure and its international comparison, the study found that: Chinese export product structure tends to balance in recent years gradually, and export products technology complexity has been improved, but low tech products export still accounts for a major share of the export products. Then by constructing empirical model to empirical analysis of the various factors of export product technical complexity. The results showed that R & D expenditure, human capital, investment in fixed assets and the size of the economy, could promote the export product structure to be improved; the influence of FDI on the export of products the level of technical structure there is a threshold value:namely when FDI is less than the critical value, FDI on the export product structure plays a role in promoting, when FDI exceeds the critical value, the FDI will inhibit the improvement of the structure of export products. Labor, capital formation, trade scale play inhibitory effect on the promotion of export product structure. Then, in the process that analysis of the influencing factors, this paper emphasis on foreign direct investment, that is FDI’s impact on the Chinese export technology structure in order to evaluate the national attribute of Chinese export technology complex.Finally, this paper put forward upgrade path on China export technical structure:pay attention to the introduction of foreign capital scale and speed; encourage foreign investment in the form of sole proprietorship; improve the ability of independent innovation, pay attention to improve Chinese enterprise’s innovation ability and its competitiveness.
