Risk Management Of Equipment R&D Project & Application In Manufacturing

The manufacturing enterprises in china are on the road to technology creation from technology import.As the main component of manufacturing,new equipment self-development projects are paid more and more attention now. Equipment development projects are with large risky venture same as other product development projects.it is benefit for projects'goal achievement to manage project risk well.In this disstertation,The project riskiness and the risk factor are discussed based on the studying of characteristics of a manufacturing enterprise and its equipment R&D Projects. For this,the risk factors from technical,time,human and subcontractor are discussed in detail.DFMEA,WBS,responsibility matrix and expert evaluation method are studied to control or mitigate project risk,milestone tooling is applied as well. The human factor is introduced throughout the project risk management process,and the concept of great project team and its management are proposed.The responsibility of a project manager and the competence of an effective project manager and other member in the great project team are discussed.it's demonstrated the benefit of planning,communication,coordination and cooperation within great project team to reduce project risk and achieve the project objectives successfully.An actual equipment R&D example,development of a Pin Insertion on Glass Machine,was used to illusstrate the various phase and techniques for effective project risk management.
