With the development of economic globalization and the emergence of the network economy, global logistics industry seems to develop in an accelerated speed. Logistics industry has great market demand and shows good development prospects in China. Now, modern logistics has become an important factor in promoting economic development in our country. While port as a hub of land and sea transport and an assembly point of logistics transportation, vigorously developing the port logistics service has become an important subject of modern port development. At the same time, the level of its logistics services has also become a key factor in measuring the overall strength of a port.As the first free trade port area, Yangshan Free Trade Port Area has a unique location policy advantages. It will become the promotion in Shanghai, the Yangtze River Delta region and national economic development. At the same time, Yangshan Free Trade Port Area as an important link of the construction of Shanghai international shipping center, vigorously developing modern logistics services and continuously expanding the connotation of modern logistics services has significant meaning. It also adapts to Shanghai as the center, Jiangsu, Zhejiang as two wings of the Yangtze River Delta economic integration strategy and to meet the needs of sharp rise in import and export trade in Shanghai.This paper uses the information as background and provides a systematic analysis of the status quo, advantages, problems and necessity of modern logistics service in Yangshan Free Trade Port Area. First, based on the specific analysis of the function of Yangshan Free Trade Port Area, I've adopted three-step method, they are: industry preliminary screening, trade development trend analysis and industry needs analysis. The study brings confirmation of the target sectors of modern logistics services in Yangshan Free Trade Port Area are the automobile, electronic products, machinery and equipment, chemicals and consumer goods. Its key function lies in the Asia-Pacific Center, the multi-national procurement centers and bonded processing. Secondly, on this basis, modern logistics services of Yangshan Free Trade Port Area's strategic objectives, development model, the functional positioning and upgrading strategy are raised. Finally, this paper tries to raise the possibility of establishing and implementing the performance evaluation system, which can measure the logistics service level of the Free Trade Port Area. Further more, from upholding integration and innovation, continuously expanding the functions of Free Trade Port Area, this paper also intends to change the management model from the contract as a unit to the enterprise as a unit, to establish the integrity of the supervision and management system as "law-abiding facilitate, illegal severely punish" and optimize the integration of customs inspection mode, and create a first-class port customs environment and enhance the awareness of modern logistics services, and optimization of resource allocation port logistics services.
