Development Strategy Of "A" Logistics Company On "the Collaboration Between The Port And The Bonded Area"

"A" Logistics Company, a medium and minor enterprise which began its business in Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone about 10 years ago, is have a good development tendency now. After China joins WTO, a series of situation and policy changes bring great impact to all Chinese bonded areas, especially to Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone. As a result, the attraction to domestic and foreign enterprises weakens. Thus, logistics companies, especially medium and minor companies serve these enterprises are facing a stern challenge. So, how does the company redevelop and expand steadily is a question that A Logistics Company needs to ponder anxiously.The startup of "The Collaboration between the Port and the bonded area" is a new chance. With the set-up of Shanghai Bonded Logistics Zone (the first bonded logistics zone in China) in August 2004, "A" company adjusted its market position promptly. It formulated a development strategy according to advantages of "The Collaboration" for the next period. This article not only researches the actualities and future development of Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone, but analyses the situations of Shanghai Bonded Logistics Zone. By some data and experiences of the author, the article expatiates the importance of "The Collaboration between the Port and the bonded area" to the development of export-oriented economy and the international competitive power of the city. "The Collaboration" has also provided good customer resources and development space for domestic and foreign third-party logistics enterprises (including medium and minor enterprises). This article shows the problems and the bottleneck of "The Collaboration" and brings forward a new task for Yangshan Deepwater Seaport showing superiority and New Harbor City Logistics Zone. The author discusses the medium and long-term developmental strategy for "A" company in the article, too. That is the possibility for "A" company to develop in Yangshan Deepwater Seaport and New Harbor City Logistics Zone.This article has six chapters. It starts from concepts of logistics, and puts the emphases on analyzing the situation and problems of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone and Waigaoqiao Port, the operation of Shanghai Bonded Logistics Zone and Yangshan Bonded Logistics Zone.
