A Comparative Study Between The Marxist Firm Theory And Neo-institutional School Firm Theory

Neo-institutional school firm theory is an important basical theory, which mainly researched the nature of enterprises, origin of enterprises, the enterprise's operation and structure and morphology evolution of enterprises. A large number of economists such as Coase, Zhang Wuchang, Williamson, Alchian, Demsetz, Yang Xiaokai,Huang Youguang, Hart, Jason, Masahiko AOKI, and so on had systematically studied on the above-mentioned issues. However, splurging the origin of modern firm theory, the majority of scholars, including some academics in our domestic had such a popular misconception: the modern firm theory began in Coase. In fact, as early as nearly a century before Coase, Marx proposed more scientific,more comprehensive and more profound the firm theory than neo-institutional school firm theory in the process of studying mode of production, operation and evolution of the capitalism,even though some of them even including analysis method can contain the limitations of the times, but about Marx's the expositions of the origin, the nature, size and governance structure and other issues of business, there weren't the works of neo-institutional school firm theory can be out its side ,on the scientific of method, the profound of theory, logical rigour and the integrity of the structure.In recent years,in the chinese theoretical circles many scholars have begun to pay attention to the theoretical study of Marxist firm theory. Research in this area mainly made comparative study in the exposition of Marxist firm theory and neo-institutional school firm theory about the origin of enterprise, the nature of an enterprise and enterprise border,on the basis of hackling and inducing the exposition of issues related enterprises in the writings of Marx. However, most of these studies focused on a comparison of specific issue, the article which starting from the main problems involved the firm theory systematically made comparative study about Marxist firm theory and neo-institutional school firm theory were relatively few. Therefore, this paper, on the basis of hackling , inducing and analyzing the research in this area in the theoretical circle ,would make more systematically comparative study in the exposition about the methods of two firm theory study , the origin of the enterprise, the nature of the enterprise,the function of the enterprise,the scale of the enterprise and the border of the enterprise, the purpose is to promote the research and make a humble way.
