Clothing is the public daily necessities, clothing consumption become an important economic component. Since the 1950s, Chinese urban residents apparel consumption has undergone dramatic changes. Roughly it experienced the changes in its economic recovery and limit the purchase, political command and simple clothing and reform and opening up and diversification option three stages.Since the 1950s, costume consumption of urban residents emerged features as follow: frugal consumption under the control of "bills"; political concepts influence appreciation of beauty of clothing consumption; the changes from handmade clothing to ready-made clothing is difficult and slow; It's significant that apparel brand and imitation brand consumption; clothing consumption become more and more "individual".For more than 50 years, apparel consumption of Chinese urban residents is influenced by society, politics, economy, and culture. Among them, the income of urban residents is the main factors which affect apparel consumption of urban residents; the demand of apparel consumption stimulates the progress of clothing production technology; market norms clothing consumption level; policy-oriented provided the conditions for consumer consumption; concept is the inherent impact factors on apparel consumption.Since the 1950s, the change of costume consumption of Chinese urban residents is a microcosm of the social and economic development. It reflects China's economically backward yesterday, also witnessed China's economic prosperity today.
