Entrepreneurs Competency Modeling research is now one of the hot topic of Human Resource management theory and practice. Although the research in our country is in the elementary phase, we still acquire a lot of fruits. The research mainly focused on the management team competency modeling of state-owned company and companies which involved in some special industries, but the research for Small and medium-sized enterprises which take above 99.8% percents is comparatively limited. So we put our efforts on Small and medium-sized companies and take a example of the management team from a veterinary enterprise in Shanxi province due to the specialty of modeling and limited research condition. Through the interview of 15 management team members and questionnaires of 370 management team members from 74 GMP veterinary enterprises (5 for each enterprise). The questionnaire is compiled from "Questionnaire of Management Team Competency Modeling for Small and medium-sized enterprises veterinary enterprises in Shanxi province". Meanwhile we set up a competency model based on 2 local veterinary experts' suggestions. And our elementary results of research are as below:1. The competency model characters of Small and medium-sized veterinary enterprises in Shanxi province are: leaderships, relation keeping capability, entrepreneur spirit, responsibility, team management, working passion, strategy programming, emotion control and chance grasping capability.2. There are 3 characters and 6 characters matched well with Family management team competency model and State-owned Enterprise competency model in Hebei province respectively. Responsibility, team management capacity and working passion are the particular characters of high management team of Shanxi Small and medium-sized veterinary enterprises.3. Through Focus interview, we believe working passion, team management and chance grasping capacity are the key competency characters of Shanxi Small and medium-sized veterinary enterprises.
