The Influence Of The Development Of International Logistics Industry On International Trade In Hunan

The rapid development of Hunan economy depends on three key factors, export, investment and consumption. As an inland province of central China, lack of coastal or border areas, Hunan province is sure in an inferior position in international trade. But an efficient international logistics will help to lower bargain costs, accelerate the ferrying of goods, raise the rate of turnover of funds, and hence improve the competition of Hunan economy.The modern logistics industry can be cataloged into productive servicing industries, of which, the financial, insurance, logistics, conveyance, information, and business servicing industry have seen rapid progress these years. The production servicing business has become one of the important industries of China on the way to industrialization and informationalization.The 4th Plenum of 10th national people congress has requested to develop logistic industry in its . Hunan province has seen an unique local advantage in the logistic system and great effort should be paid to the import and export tradition to promote the development of Hunan economy.Based on the correlation of international logistics with international trade in Hunan, the fundamental theory of international logistics was traced back, the formation of the modern logistics was studied, the impact of international logistics on the development of international trade and the relationships between them were investigated. The connection of Hunan international logistics with import, export, and international trade in the years of 1986-2006 was calculated using a computational model. The calculation indicate an long term stable correlation and an obvious Granger cause and result relationship, especially an intimate connection between international logistics and import trade. The status in quo and the future demand of the Hunan international logistics was discussed, and some suggestions and countermeasures on how to promote the international trade and hence the development of Hunan international logistics are provided.
