With the furthering of the opening-up and reform, the city of Tang Shan has greatly advanced her economy, raised her comprehensive competitiveness and succeeded in becoming one among the leading cities in terms of various index. It should not be denied that the local ceramic industry contributed so much to the triumph as one of the three staples in her economy. The export of ceramic products has started a long time ago. With the rapid development of the world's and China's economy, the export of ceramic products increases in quantity day by day, resulting in the large contribution to the overseas trade of the city.There are few scholars specializing in the study of the ceramic industry in this city and there are fewer people looking into the exportation of this industry. Some scholars tried to probe into the question from many perspectives and reached some shallow conclusions about certain theories and practical cases. No systematic study has been tried, and no case analysis has been conducted in a practical sense.In the process of the introduction of the history of Tang-Shan-city ceramic industry, the systematic analysis of the current situation of the export of the local ceramic industry is conducted not only by presenting a cross-sectional anatomy of the 2007 latest information but also by making comparisons and contrasts between corresponding index of information covering 2002 to 2007 in order to deepen the understanding of the audience of the problems in question.In the portion of the SWOT analysis, all the advantages, weaknesses, opportunities and threats are based on the in-situ observations and first-hand material gathered and derived from enterprises and departments accessed in the research as well as relevant files. Efforts have been made to ensure that the analysis agrees with the reality and a definite object is within the view.On the basis of learning the total amount of the export of the local ceramic products from 2002 to 2007, the analysis of the plausibility of the short-term objective undergoes repeated recalculations, with the use of the regression analysis, to be convincing as possibleThe formulation of the measures used to ensure the realization of strategic objectives could only be achieved on the basis of the profound study of the national developmental policy for ceramic industry, the comprehensive understanding of the future trend of ceramic industry, and the consideration of the disadvantages and challenges facing the export of ceramic products. Only with all these in mind could the plausibility of objectives be ensured and heightened.The real significance of the essay is that with the comprehensive systematic analysis of the present situation of overseas trade of Tang Shan ceramic products the short-, middle- and long-term objectives of the export of local ceramic products are determined in order to provide some guidelines to the ceramic enterprises' development. Based on the above objectives, the practical measures are introduced to ensure the plausibility of objectives to admonish and advise ceramic enterprises to conduct their export.
