Trade frictions are getting frequent in recent years between China and US with a wide range of products involved. 2003, some US furniture manufactures jointly requested an antidumping duty investigation on wooden bedroom furniture from China, with most far-reaching effect concerning antidumping, that will definitely jeopardize the normal trade and economic relationship between the two states and in further the sustainable development of furniture industry in China if not well-resolved. The dissertation, with the introduction of US antidumping laws and system, thoroughly shows the investigation, revealing the US nature of trade protectionism, implying the unfairness and irrational of the case, and giving the analysis on positive and adverse effects from the antidumping duty taken respectively by US as the importing country and China as the exporting country. In further analysis, with a trend of US trade protectionism enhanced and antidumping laws and regulations enforced, the furniture industry in China must handle it properly to avoid more loss. The final part presents solutions concerning the short term and long term potential trade frictions.
