Study On The Determinants Of Anti-dumping Investigation Against China’s Chemicals Exporting

The development of China’s chemical industry after 40 years of reform and opening-up, has penetrated into all aspects of the national economy. And it’s an important pillar industry of our country’s economic development. With the deepening of our country to participate in the world economy, chemical exporting scale expanded unceasingly and developed rapidly. The chemical industry has become the worst-hit area of foreign countries who use anti-dumping measures to China frequently. From 1995 to 2013, the investigations of anti-dumping on China’s chemical exporting have already as many as 188 times. View of this, it is necessary to safeguard interests and rights of enterprises, to better cope with anti-dumping from abroad as the research subject.This thesis put the economic theory of anti-dumping as theoretical basis,analyzed the present situation and characteristic of anti-dumping against world’s and China’s chemical exporting, studied on the main reasons for this situation, and then established regression model to examine the correlation between the intensity of investigation on China’s chemical exporting and main determinants, finally, proposed some countermeasures for it. The thesis is composed of six sections. The first section introduced the research significance, research purpose, the content of study and the research mentality. The second section proposed the economic theory of anti-dumping as theoretical basis for the below. The third section analyzed the present situation and characteristic of anti-dumping against world’s and China’s chemical industry. The fourth and fifth section are the most important sections in this thesis., The fourth section qualitatively analyzed the reasons for world anti-dumping against china’s chemicals exporting from the domestic and international point of view, and on this basis, the fifth section selected anti-dumping intensity against China’s chemical exporting as dependent variable, selected the average annual growth rate of world GDP, China’s share of world chemicals exporting, decrease of exporting price, intensity of China’s initiated investigation against importing chemical as independent variables, made the correlation analysis. The results show that all independent variables will promote anti-dumping intensity against China’s chemical exporting.Combining with the analysis conclusion,section 6,from the government,chemical industry associations and chemical enterprises point of view respectively, suggested some countermeasures. Including the government claim free trade position, chemical industryassociation search information widely, encourage enterprises to innovation, enterprises change export structure, etc, in order to reduce anti-dumping and promote China’s chemical industry development.
