The Research On Foreign Trade Structure Optimization Of Jiaxing

Since the 1980s, with the constantly opening to the outside world, Jiaxing City has made considerable progress either from the area of total foreign trade amount or structure, thus effectively promoting local economic development, showing the following distinctive characteristics: total size expansion, products industrialization, markets diversification, foreign-funded enterprises outstanding, and foreign-trade diversification. However, the overall development of foreign trade in Jiaxing City level is still not high. From the exports structure, products with high scientific and technological content and higher value-added still remain a low proportion, the comparative advantage in exports mainly reflected in the labor-intensive commodities. From the trade market structure, the foreign trade highly concentrated in a few countries and regions for a long time, which increase the risk of external trade, and weakened its flexibility and competitiveness. From the trade perspective, the negative effects of using foreign capital started to become apparent, and on the other hand the foreign trade development of private enterprises has not yet achieved leapfrog growth. From the trade structure, the processing trade development remains lower. Thus, we can see that the unreasonable trade structure is still the outstanding problem in the foreign trade development. Jiaxing City foreign trade "big" rather than "strong", although great achievements have been made, but various contradictions and constraints are getting worse.Based on the above considerations, this paper acquires many informative and reliable statistical data about the foreign trade structure, products structure, market structure, the main management structure and mode of trade in recent years, seeking the development and change rules in the foreign trade structure in Jiaxing City from the area of practical and theory. The paper launches a comprehensive, systematic and in-depth study revealed in the development and changes in foreign trade structure, using quantitative and qualitative combining analysis method, for the purpose of revealing the internal rules exist in the development of foreign trade structure, and proposing optimized adjustment strategies and countermeasures. The analyzing results may provide some assistance to explaining the development and changes rules, and offer an objective evaluation on national trade policy reforms.The paper is divided into five parts. Part V analyze the optimized target model, and the corresponding countermeasures to optimize the structure of foreign trade of Jiaxing City.
