Colombo Plan as Asia's first international and intergovernmental mutual aid plan, which was initiated by the British-led Commonwealth countries in 1950. The introduction of the Colombo Plan and early in the development of most of the time, Britain was a protagonist. With the gradual declining of power, as well as key Western allies - the United States joined, its status of dominance was challenged. Because Britain and America intended to achieve their different objectives through the Colombo Plan ,theirs differences have become increasingly prominent,but these differences have not been unlimited expended.Under the international context of the Cold War, for the common strategic demand of opposing Soviet and the same political system and values, and blood relationship of the two countries, Britain and America conciliated the differences quickly. Based on the reasons for the introduction of the Colombo Plan,in particular the motives Britain has initiated the Colombo Plan, and the United States' changes in attitude to the Colombo Plan to reveal the differences between the two countries, then analyses the reasons for differences which were occurred in-depth and coordinated the differences between the two countries,ultimately reflect the substance of the relationship of Anglo-American.In addition to the introduction and the conclusion, the article is divided into three parts:The chapter 1 cardings the relationship of Anglo-American from the end of World War II to the 1950s. During this period, Britain and the United States inherited the special relationship,which was formed in wartime and developed it as the cornerstone of their foreign strategies;but it can not hide the differences of affecting theirs friendly relations,and relations between the two countries appeared some dissonance from time to time.The chapter 2 illuatrates the backgrounds of initiating the Colombo Plan and contents related to it.This chapter focuses on analysing the reasons for the introduction of Colombo Plan, in particular the motives Britain has initiated it, which contain both the disagreements with the United States, that is, to resist "Point Four Program" of the United States; and have coordination with the United States , opposition to Soviet expansion.The Chapter 3 illuatrates the United States' attitude to the Colombo Plan and the causes of changes in1950s.For the Colombo Plan,the United States' attitude is not immutable .With the changes of its concerns of national interests and the international situation, the United States' attitude has been taken place many changes in the Truman and Eisenhower period.The Chapter 4 discusses the differences and coordination on the Colombo Plan between Britain and the United States. In this section, by contrast their respective motives on the Colombo Plan between Britain and the United States, to explore their differences. Then make a detailed analysis of the reasons for the differences and coordinating the differences, thus reflect the substance of the relationship of Anglo-American.
