After 30 years developing, China achieves outstanding success in her economy. With the deepening of the Reforming and Opening, IT technology is now practiced in every corner of Chinese economy, in which agriculture, industry and service included. Post-service for IT products is more and more important since the dependency of IT technology is stronger and stronger in every area of Chinese economy. The quality of post-service of IT products is now the key point which can assure customer practice IT technology in their business successfully or not.In a long time, IT service providers are focusing their attention to the customers in the area of communication, finance and government. Almost all of these customers are located in large metropolitans. And current IT service model is designed and adjusted to meet their needs. While, with the expanding of market from enterprise customers in large metropolitans to small business customers in some small cities, current post-service model is now challenged by the new opportunities in this new market. It is worthwhile for us to study how we reconstruct the post-service model to meet those small customers' needs.This thesis is based on the analysis of current post-service model in IT industry, and is choosing the service model in external storage market to be the object for studying. This thesis also leveraged empirical analysis and normative analysis to study current post-service model. Hope this thesis can help us to find a best model to service small business customers well.
