Up to now, there is not the conception about product in telecom industry. The most popular word in this industry is "service". It is because of the structure of telecom industry value chain. There are only three parts in the traditional value chain of telecom industry: equipment supplier, operator and user. In addition, in the period the most primary product is voice product. This kind of product is not only simply but also totally dependent on the telecom network. Operator is the only provider of the product. Thus, service is equal to product in some ways.With the development of telecom industry, the value chain becomes more and more complex. And the operator has been not the only provider of the product. Meanwhile, the service is not equal to the product neither. Besides, the competition among operators tends to be the competition of products. So, it is necessary to clarify the conception of telecommunication product.There are 5 major results in this paper as listed below:(1) Summarizing the definitions that some other papers and some organizations have defined. It has been found in this paper that there is not a uniform comprehension about telecommunication product, but the same thing in all the definitions I have summarized is that service is the basic of telecommunication product.(2) Expatiating on the conception of telecommunication product and arriving at a conclusion that telecommunication product is a kind of compound that consists of telecommunication services and information goods. It bases on telecommunication service and fulfills the requirement about sharing and experience.(3) Introducing the attributes of telecommunication product by using the classification of product attributes.(4) Based on the characters of telecommunication services and information goods, it has been proved that telecommunication product has the same characters.(5) Proving the serviceability of the definition this paper has defined by classifying the product of China Mobile.
