The efficiently competitive situation has come into being in according to the deep reforms carried out in China's telecommunication industry. The management policies in the telecommunication industry will experience an overall transformation and will encourage innovations. The growth of the basic telecom business slows down, its profit has been reduced, and it's not a easy task to develop as before. It's strategically necessary to carry out the business transformation strategy. To develop value-added service is an emblem of business transformation.This article summarizes the current situation of value-added service development, analyses every key point of it and makes a SWOT analysis of China's market competition situation and the main operators' competitiveness. It makes a predict of the development trend of telecom value-added service and puts specific numbers, and it puts some suggestions on competition strategies. For telecom operator's good, from the meaning to develop value-added service, the article holds research on the following issues:No.l, what is telecom value-added service; No.2, the reasons to develop value-added service; No.3, how to develop value-added service; No.4, the result of comparison of China Telecom and its domestic and international rivals;No.5, the way to develop it; No.6,the future development strategies.The meaning of this article is to research how to develop value-added service while facing with marketing competition.
