Study On Intra-Industry Trade Development Of Jiangxi Province

With the development of international trade, a new trade phenomenon, called intra-industry trade, came forth. By studying on positive situation and analyzing on theory, academicians discovered that intra-industry trade would be in favor of improving competitive ability, reducing cost of adjusting industrial structure, adding social welfare, and promoting trade liberalism and anti-monopoly.From the beginning of reform and opening-up, Jiangxi province had gotten notable achievements in foreign trade, whose amount increased to 6.19 billion dollars in 2006 from 1.29 billion dollars in 1995, and its average increasing ratio reached 15.33% every year. Amount of intra-industry trade also achieved 1.62 billion dollars in 2006 from 0.24 billion dollars in 1995, whose present scale was as 6.68 times as the scale of 1995's, and G-L index went up to 0.64 in 2006. Thus it can be seen that, with the development of Jiangxi province's foreign trade, Jiangxi province has made great progress in intra-industry trade. But compared to intra-industry trade development of Jiangxi province, its research hangs behind, and there is no researching production about it now.According to the above, and on the basis of reviewing relative theories of intra-industry trade, I collect datum of Jiangxi province's 36 industries from 1995 to 2006, to analyze status quo of Jiangxi province intra-industry trade by index system, including G-L index, intra-industry trade intensity index, intra-industry trade amount, and intra-industry trade rising ratio of fix base period, and discover a series of problems in Jiangxi province intra-industry trade, for instance, low ratio which intra-industry trade amount accounts for foreign trade amount, singleness in structure, biggish flustration in most of industries, of a sort ability in earning foreign exchange. Then, in virtue of Eview software, I do a research on influencing factors of Jiangxi province intra-industry trade by regression, such as scale economy, market structure, integration of economy, international direct investment, and so on. At last, on the basis of researching results and actual situation of Jiangxi province, I put forward some developing countermeasures to promote intra-industry trade of Jiangxi province. This article is divided into six parts. And part one mainly introduces researching sense, researching content, researching means, innovations and reviewing researching outcomes in intra-industry trade. Part two introduces relative theories about intra-industry trade, including concept of intra-industry trade, ways of classification, means of measuring intra-industry trade level, and theoretical models of intra-industry trade. Part three analyzes intra-industry trade status quo of Jiangxi province. Part four studies influencing factors of Jiangxi province intra-industry trade. Part five puts forward some countermeasures to promote intra-industry trade of Jiangxi province in further. Part six contains conclusions and looking-forwards.
