In the conventional electric power engineering project management, schedule and cost are controlled and managed respectively. With the electric power engineering project market being increasingly competitive, adopting the mode of integrated control of project schedule and cost has been the common view of electric power industries. This thesis mainly studies integrated control of schedule and cost in electric power engineering project based on Earned Value Management in the course of implementation. Firstly, the thesis analyzes the general methods for schedule control and cost control in electric power engineering project management, discusses their problems and limitations, and points out to the necessity to introduce Earned Value Management. Secondly, based on Earned Value Calculating Module, the thesis discusses how to apply the Earned Value Management to the electric power engineering project. Then the thesis uses cost performance index, schedule performance index, cost variance, schedule variance to reflect the real state of project management, and proposes the specific technique process and application steps of integrated control of project schedule and cost. At last, the thesis gives an empirical research on application effects of Earned Value Management in an electric power project.
