In current global market, companies are looking forward to efficient project managementto improve their productivity and reduce the cost by better information share. The bestcompetitor shall provide products and service more quickly within limited resource and withthe lowest cost, to improve the income.This article briefly introduced the history of the project management and cost controlmanagement. And the several methods was stated for cost control and schedule control forbalance of project management.In power plant modification project, there were key issues on tight schedule, long team ofequipment purchase. These issues were studied in the thesis, and the basic concept ofintegrated project schedule and cost was raised, and a process of integrated project control onbased on traditional control method--Earned Value Methods was established. EVM will beused to combine with characteristics of China’s power plant modification project.At last, the thesis was brought forward an example of local gas turbine DLN modificationproject in order to explain the application of Earned Value Method in a project. In thisexample, Gantt chart, the forward line of Comparative Law and EVM were used to analyzethe complexion of project, and some control method is put forward.
