Study On Strategic Management Of GUANGSHEN Railway Incorporated Company

In recent years, China's national economy is developing in high speeds and standard of living of Chinese is improving stably. By means of six speeding up trains on a large scale, passenger transportation has improved rapidly in quantity and quality. At the same time, many dedicated passenger railway lines began to construct in succession. Therefore, china's railway passenger transportation will increase further more in the future. Some railway transport enterprises major in passenger transport will appear. Consequently, it is significance to research the choice and management of railway passenger transport enterprises (RPTE).The thesis analyzes the background and basic characteristics. It studies the macro-environment of RPTE in society, culture, technology, nature, economy, politics and legal aspects. The thesis considers that there are many factors benefit for RPTE, such as the developing of china's economy, population increasing, emergence of energy sources, lack of nature resource and pressure of environmental protection. But diversified travel demands go against RPTE. The competitive structure of transportation industry influences the choice of strategy objects of RPTE. By analyzing the competitive structure in passenger transportation market, the thesis discusses the impact of current passenger transport system for RPTE. By means of econometrical model, thesis studies the competitive capacity of various transport modes quantificationally. Using analytical hierarchy process, thesis investigates the degree of comfort of railway and road transport. Meanwhile, thesis also constructs a market competition model of heterogeneous product and researches the competitive capacity of railway and other mode using game theoretic analyzing. It concludes that the strategic object of RPTE should be improving the degree of comfort and the speed of trains. Railway passenger transport has speed, price, safety and performance advantages. Based on the result of SWOT analyzing, thesis put forward strategic object of RPTE which are constructing fast railway passenger transport network in order to enhance railway's competitive capacity, implementing differentiated strategy to intensify the advantages of railway, establishing strategic alliance and cooperating with other passenger transport enterprises. In the end, thesis researches the strategic management of passenger transportation of GUANGSHEN railway incorporated company demonstratively by means of above methods.
