| With the gradual decrease of land resources and sharp increase of population,all countries and areas have turned their sights from land to ocean.Like demanding food from green plants,people are expecting to obtain more quality food from the blue ocean,thus speed up the research,development and of the ocean.In the recent decades,mariculture has attracted great attention of those countries along the coast,and has become the mainstream of the international development and exploitation of ocean life resources. According to the estimate of FAO,mariculture products will be the mainstream of global food.In the oncoming years,the global demand for aquatic products will increase several ten-million tons,most of which is from mariculture.It brings important realistic and profound historical significance to human existence space broadening,food supply increase and improvement of food quality,especially to the fully sustainable development of modern agriculture.Located on the north of Jiaozhou Bay,Chengyang District provides room for various water lives to reproduce,with winding coastline,broad mudflats and fertile waters.It possesses high economic value and potential for development.Since 1950s,the mariculture of Chengyang District has experienced four stages:1950s-1960s,mainly cultivating kelp and shellfish;1960s-1970s,cultivating mainly cultivating shellfish; 1980s,mainly cultivating prawn and shellfish;1990s,main layout of cultivating fish, shrimp,crab,shellfish and seaweed.In the new century,the mariculture of Chengyang District should enhance its developing level.It is our important mission to scientifically adjust inner industry structure,develop quality marine breeds,strengthen prevention of disease,lessen and finally control its degree of harm,reasonably employ waters and realize sustainable usage of marine waters.Against this background,this theme insists linking theory with practice and refers to resource economics,regional economics and western economics,to discuss some basic problems on the development of mariculture upon the practical experience of ocean development of Chengyang District.Based on SWOT analysis method to carry on deep analysis on the industry structure of mariculture,science and technology application and the layout of marine breeding waters,this theme raises some relevant countermeasures and suggestions upon the developing trend of modern global aquatic industry.This thesis is divided into five chapters.Chapter one Academically discussed the concept,classification and characteristic of mariculture,and elucidated the significance of the sustainable development in mariculture.Chapter Two The significance of developing mariculture.Chapter Three The status of mariculture in Chengyang District.Chapter Four SWOT analysis of mariculture in Chengyang District and the conclusion.Chapter Five Countermeasures and suggestions on the development of mariculture in Chengyang District.Mariculture in Chengyang District faces opportunities,challenges,difficulty and hope. But these advantages,disadvantages,opportunities and challenges are not immutable; under certain conditions and periods,they can invert.This article studies the interior advantages and disadvantages and exterior opportunities and threats of the development resources of Mariculture in Chengyang District,thus further brings up strategic choices for Chengyang District to realize continuous and healthy development of mariculture.
