Under the market mechanism, the layout of our iron and steel industry has been further optimized with the production capability shifting towards south-eastern coastal region and Bohai region. With the market economic mechanism being set up and improved, the pace of reform and open-up speeding up, and domestic and international competition showing the trend of internationalization and complication, our iron and steel companies are facing up with severe challenges in terms of strategic management capability and technological innovation capability.Tianjin Metallurgical Group (Holding) Co., Ltd., the former Bureau of Metallurgy, is one of China's production bases of iron and steel industry in history. Facing increasingly fierce and complex competition, the company, a large corporate group in the Municipality of Tianjin, must seize the strategic opportunity of technological upgrading and structure adjustment in China's iron and steel industry and the development of Tianjin Binhai New District.
