Energy takes the fatal role in a country's economic developing. In China, coal is the overwhelming energy that it occupies 70% in Chinese primary energy sources. China is also a large country for coal output, and her coal yield lists first in the world for a long period. In China, the coal energy's distribution is negative direction with her economic development's distribution, so the coal supply and requirement is unbalanced, which led to the in 'North Coal to South, West Coal to East' passages formed. As one kind of coal transportation modes, the water-way transportation takes a critical role. At the beginning of 2008 year, the coal's land transportation cut down by the snow disaster and many industries had tensional coal need. At this time, water-way transportation was enhanced by coal ports operation, so the China electric power, industry and economy est. were guaranteed to run safely.China has strong water-way coal transportation requirement. The 42% domestic coal was transported by water-way mode and the coal foreign trade gross increase year by year, which is main depending on water-way transportation. Chinese industrialization march faster, which makes coal consumption seriously, so ports-the important points of water-way transportation were pulled to develop fast.In this paper, after the analysis of coal adjacent and ocean shipping's status, port operation management and port coal operation logistics process, System Dynamic (SD) was chosen as a macro research method and Discrete Event Dynamic System (DEDS) was chosen as a micro research method to study the coal port logistics system. After simulation modeling, simulation experiments and data analysis work has done, the port coal logistics system's compatibility and system resources utilization's rationality are evaluated in this paper.1. Based on the SD theories, after the analysis of the coal port logistics system's exterior and internal influence factors and the feedback relationships of them, the complicated cause and effect feedback relations model was constructed, which clarified the structured relationships of the system. Based on the cause and effect feedback relations model, it was quantified by the impact factors, weights, parameter values and relational expressions were definite, then the flow-graph model was built. So the SD theory model has been built after the flow-graph was obtained.2. After the analysis of coal wharf's components, operation techniques and operation process, a logic process model was built for Qin Huangdao Port coal logistics system. Then, based on DEDS theory and on the simulation platform of WITNESS software, a simulation model was built, which coherent with port system reality. Then simulation model test and check has been done. On the simulation model, a series of experiments has been done, for parameters assemble of different coal storage periods in coal wharf and different intervals of ship arrival in berth.The experiment data was synthetically analyzed, and important study conclusions were obtained according to wharf operation indexs. The obtained research and the conclusions were valuable reference to coal ports.
