As the most characteristic products in local areas, specialities have got strong regionalism. The packaging for local products comes from the wrapping and the decoration for the products, which meets the need of protection, storing, transporting and selling. Its functions aim to promote the product grade, establish the local image, develop the local economy, and reveal the local culture. Regionalism and Localization are the origional characteristics of specilities.Hence, the packaging for local products is requiring interpreting, remoulding and revealing the regional culture.Our country has abundent local products, but the packaging to match them has been long overlooked and in a lack of regionalism, resulting the shortage of brands.This article is trying to straighten out the natural property and social function of the local products, explore the relationship between the regionalism and brandization of the local products by analizing the domestic and overseas status que of the packaging for local products. There goes the saying from Goethe,"The more national, the more worldwide". Only if the packaging for specialities holds the characteristics of the regionalism all along, will the local products, together with the local culture ready to embrace the world, be able to get out of its producing areas to bring along the development of the local economy.
