There are very large areas of arid and semiarid region in our country, and which covers 52.5 percent of the area. Dryland farming in north China plays a very important role in agricultural production, which is the main grain product areas of many important farm products. To carry out sustainable development in dryland farming in north China is the foundation and guarantee to the food security and the agriculture development. The seemly multi-effect appraisement of dryland water-saving agriculture (DWSA) can show the trend of DWSA development, and can popularize the extend of production, and provide research direction to DWSA techniques and to grasp what is the sustainable development method of the regional agriculture. The study on agricultural benefit of DWSA which is based on the system of indicators for evaluation is constructed according to different types of cultivated lands in Shouyang County, Shanxi Province. The results show that: the change of DWSA ecological benefit of the terraced field and flat land produced in Shouyang County fluctuates which have an increasing trend generally. The increasing trend of ecological benefit is not obvious, which is less effective for the improvement of eco-environment. The integrated benefit is effected by ecological and social benefit and has an increasing trend. Genernally speaking, the increasing trend of ecological benefit is effective for the improvement of eco-environment.Water-saving farming model is suitable for the terraced field and flat land produced. The second assumed condition is favorable to social and ecological benefit, and the first assumed condition is favorable to economical and integrated benefit. Therefore, on the base of these assumed conditions, the logical measure and improvement of eco-environment are favorable to water-saving farming models of the terraced field and flat land produced significantly. Finally, what this paper tries to do some innovation is followed by the terraced field and flat land produced which have been chosen by GIS, and the theory has been optimizeand by the the construction of framework for assessing based on different type of cultivated lands, and the method will make the benefit evaluation, agricultural structure adjustment and famer's decision-making significant.
