The thesis first studies and sums up the developing of compensation motivation from the economic and management point of view, then analyzes the new development of salary and reward management. Of course, it also describes the practices of salary and reward management in China enterprises, especial in the telecommunication enterprises.The author, with the case study of China Unicom Xi'an Branch' salary and reward management for middle-level managers, analyses the present situation and existed problems, has a conclusion that its salary and reward scheme doesn't inspirit them to work hard. So it must design a new salary and reward scheme. Then the author discusses basic design principles, aims and influence factors. Last, on the basis of such analysis, (he company's new salary and reward scheme is put forward to solve some problems of the old scheme. After performance pay is considered, the author makes an attempt to put forward a new salary and reward scheme. Being complete and scientific, the new system raised, with base pay, performance pay, bonus, allowance and welfare, places an emphasis on equality, encouragement and competition. Besides, paying attention to the analysis of posts, evaluation of performance and pay range, the new scheme bridges the gap in the salary and reward system. Finally the author discusses how to reach the best result. The new scheme is valuable and pragmatic both in design and implementation, it will improve the situation of China Unicom Xi'an Branch' salary and reward management, it will also attract and inspirit middle-level managers.
