With the development of globalization, information industry is expanding unprecedented. Every country has issued patent laws in order to protect benefit of their enterprises. Meanwhile enterprises are more and more concentrated on protecting their own intellectual property. Being one of the important divisions in high-technology industry, information industry always has great volume of patents applied every year. As a developing country poor in technology, how China guarantee the benefit of domestic enterprises is going to have practical significance.This thesis emphasizes on information industry under globalization, systematically expounding and analyzing R&D activities, applications and authorities of patents in domestic and international information industry. Besides, this thesis stresses on analyzing main players -domestic enterprises and multinational enterprises, who are active in China patent activities, respectively.Basing on these theories and data, this thesis applies related theories of intellectual capital and input-output method to analyze information industry and related enterprises respectively, in order to draw the conclusion of methods to improve R&D efficiency of Chinese information industry and Chinese domestic enterprises.This thesis mainly uses quantitative method to do positive research, getting the track and trend of patent activities by collecting and analyzing data of domestic/international R&D and patent activities. Through comparison and analyzing of domestic and international facts, meaningful conclusion is drawn to the technology development of China information industry. In addition, a case study is also made on TD-SCDMA, which is a domestic and typical technology in China information industry. By analyzing the patents of TD-SCDMA, it verifies the conclusion of this thesis further more.
