At present, more than one-third of the cities in China has got the title of China's outstanding tourist city. The development of our country's urban tourism is grown into a higher stage as the 2008 Beijing Olympics will be held in Beijing and the 2010 Shanghai World Expo will be held.Urban tourism, developed with the process of modern city, is the result of the development of the world tourism. With the recovery and development of national economy, the raising of per capita income level and the increasing of urban residents' leisure time, most of the resources among countries around the world was in large open and utilization, Cities became the largest tourist generating spaces and destinations. Urban tourism is increasingly becoming a strong driving force to promote the local tourism and even the entire socio-economic and cultural development of a country.Nanchang, as one of the mega-cities and outstanding tourist cities in China, is blessed with the advantages and conditions of development of tourism. After summing up the research of urban tourism at home and abroad, this paper begin from the related concepts and systems of urban tourism theory, introduced the factors of the restructuring of the urban tourism ,such as market forces and cultural factors. Then, combined with the tourism development conditions of Nanchang and the people's consumption actuality in Nanchang, put forward the way of the tourism transformation from "demand type" to "enjoy type". The theoretical research on urban tourism development will do a good job on the development of urban tourism in Nanchang, and will be of great significance in the urban tourism planning .At the same time, it will be use for reference on the improvement and development of urban tourism theory, and also be in reference value to some extent.
