Separation of power plant and grid in 2002 aroused abroad attention of all circles of the society. All questions focused on building of electric market system. Along with continuous deepening of electric system reform, overall structure of Gansu electric market has had a qualitative change. Under current situation, it was an important and urgent problem for Gansu Electric Power Corporation (here in after called GSEPC) to study, which was about how to widen idea and vision to adopt active and reasonable marketing strategy and how to strengthen existing market, blaze potential market, exploit future market to promote better survival condition and bigger development space in competition field of energy industries.By using marketing management theory, analyzing status quo of domestic electric power market, combining with circumstances of Gansu Province and GSEPC, this paper deeply analyzed current situation and key issues of electric market development. Secondly, this paper used SWOT Matrix to analyze Gansu electric marketing environment, and used qualitative method to sum up specific data of electric power demand of various industries. Thirdly, it made a primary judgment about electric market trend to position and subdivide the market under the condition of macro and micro electric market environment. Then, it used differential theory to put forward provincial electric marketing strategy and implement scheme. All strategy and schemes could ensure GSEPC to fit to new requirements of the market and have a quick, health and harmonious development.Based on studying and absorbing the past experiences, idea, strategy and implement scheme put forward in this paper were innovative attempt in the field of electric market exploitation. Study of this paper had a practical meaning for perfecting electric marketing system and enriching market exploitation intension. Meanwhile, this paper provided valuable references to the same kind of power grid enterprises.
