Games play an important role in the healthy development of people's lives. During the latter part of the 20thcentury,electronic and online gaming became one of the most influential aspects of society and quickly became a pillar of developed economies. These games not only serve as a form of entertainment, but also impact and are a reflection of popular contemporary culture. As the gaming network has expanded, its unique virtual and interactive capabilities have changed the ways in which people interact, creating an online gaming culture affecting and becoming a major part of society in general. These games have also aided in globalizing cultural exchange and are taking a leading role in determining audiences' values and preferences. In the designing of electronic games, the game player's experience is maintained as the focus of design. As human civilization and gaming technologies have both developed, the role of cultural significance has gradually grown in importance when designing games.Simple technologies of the past no longer satisfy the expectations of those who dwell in the virtual communities, and demands for more advanced possibilities will not decrease. Thus, the impact of the many roles of game design will been analyzed in this paper:the role of the production processes and creative methods, the role of game and film animation, online games as new cultural industries, and the psychological and spiritual impacts of gaming on younger generations. There must be dialogue and agreement upon the conflicts inherent in the elements of national traditions and internationalized trends of development in game design.Through the analysis of domestic and international games, there will be three recommendations on the role game design has on the development of and influence on culture.
