The modern competition is gradually drastic. More and more enterprises realize that it is difficult to acquire competition advantages by themselves. It is necessary that enterprises establish long-term strategic partnership with other enterprises of the supply chain and adopt new management strategy. Supply chain management strategy is becoming an important research subjecet. The idea and aim of supply chain management is that using lower cost to provide maximal customer value through cooperation and information sharing between supply chain members. It needs the effective integrated management of the member enterprises. The integration of the inventory management is one of the important aspects. The Jointly Managed Inventory Strategic is the concentrated expression of this idea.The research object of this dissertation is the Jointly Managed Inventory Strategy between the vendor and buyer based on strategic relationship. After a brief introduction of the related theories, the author firstly analyzed the relationship between the cooperation relationship and inventory management strategy, and described the object frame of the inventory management strategy based on the strategic relationship. After analyzing the causes of JMI's appearance, the author analyzed the idea, operation model, preparation of implement and form of the JMI and established the business process of supply chain under the JMI. At following, the author applied qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze the JMI's optimized effect to the supply chain, pointing that the JMI can reduce the influence of Bull Whip, cut down the whole inventory cost of the supply chain and improve the flexibility. In the end, the dissertation made an empirical study through the accomplishment of JMI between a car producer and its distributors.
