Research On Development Of Effective Team For EPC Projects

In the construction market, the project is prone to have lager size and be more complex technically, so more and more parties join in the construction of the project. The extend of how parties cooperate with each other effects not only the time ,cost and quality of the EPC projects but also the efficiency of the construction. In this paper, it tries to develop the effective team organized by the main contractor and the subcontractors. Through the work of this team, the aim is not only to provide the employer-satisfied project subject to the contract, but also to meet each party requirements of benefit, finally improve their competitive power in the market.In this paper, after the introduction of the research background, it defines the members and characteristics of the effective team, and then proposes that each party makes a commitment through the agreement to join the effective team.A small team formed by the selected members of each party manages the effective team to realize the coordination as the partners. After the brief statement of organization design theory, team theory and other relevant theories supporting the close cooperation, the paper has designed the structure and two important rules of the team. It also explains the process of the team development. Then comparing the advantages and disadvantages of the team,the paper gives some advises in use of this kind of team in China.At last,it summerises the main results of this paper,and speaks out the questions needing the farture research.
