Since the beginning of last century, coming along with widely industrialization and development of science and technology, the management skills used in construction industry in developed countries have been significantly improved and optimized, benefiting from the adoption of modern management theories. At the same time, in China, due to various historical reasons, the attempt to introduce and utilize the advanced theories on quality control within construction industry was far from enough. Therefore, generally speaking, the effectiveness of quality management in construction industry is less than satisfied. As being member of the WTO, China's construction industry faces unprecedented opportunities and challenges in the global construction market. It becomes more and more urgent to learn and implement the advanced theory of quality management, to improve and update our standard of quality control to the international level. While the quality management in developed countries undergoing three stages before 1970s, namely, quality check, quality control with statistic method and overall quality management, we have not introduced the concept of quality control with statistic method and overall quality control to domestic industry till the late 1970's and early 80's. Over more then 20 years, most of the construction companies have made great process on the quality control and management. However, for many other construction enterprises,they still face lots of problems and need to make great effort in terms of the understanding the theory of process quality control and implementing its principles at their construction practice.In this paper, starting from figuring out the existing problems of process quality control at the present buildings construction practices, the author brought forward three solutions to the those problems, referring to the effectiveness-proved methods used abroad and summarizing his own experience in quality management: 1. Analyzing factors (5M1E)causing the deviation of quality from the standards of quality control in the construction process and implementing corresponding precautious and controlling means; 2. Analyzing, assessing and predicting process capability with statistical methods, conclusion will be used to choose appropriate measures; 3. Principles of process quality control will be employed in the management of construction to build auditing and controlling system of process quality, which can be used as a measurement of effectiveness of process quality control. After that, the author foresaw systematical melioration within construction enterprises with the well-established integrative process quality controlling system and auditing criteria, quality control performance and it will lead to a holistic improvement of process quality control for the construction industry. In the end, a case was quoted and analyzed to illustrate the purpose and effect of solutions proposed by author, which also supports the main ideas about process quality control discussed in this paper.
