As the development of project mode, the project management and the project quality management becomes more and more popular. The paper summarizes the characteristic of the construction project, analyzes the methods and techniques applied in the process quality control of construction. Although there is a large need to implement the quality control on the construction, the characteristic of project mode usually has a problem that there is no enough data. So it is difficult to use traditional statistical process control to such cases. This paper presents a new effective approach for estimating the process parameters in such environment and emphasized construction processes based on group technology (GT). As similar processes were grouped into a family, historical data from the family can be used sufficiently and at the meantime statistic samples were amplified. The approach is not only effective in quality control of the process but also convenient and simple.The paper analyses the method involved the determination of processes, family formation, retrieving data, and estimating process parameters. The thesis applies fuzzy cluster analysis to classify processes, and brings forward a method that using interval-based analytic hierarchy process to determine the fuzzy similar coefficient. After the processes are classified and the historical and current data are got, the data will be converted and the values will obey the same distribution. Based the value, the quality characteristic of different group processes can be expressed in the same control chart, the tendency of the current quality of the process may be predicted. And then various methods of calculating the process capability index are listed, so the process capability can be quantified for the quality control more accurately.At last, the GT-based process quality control is demonstrated feasible in project construction through the data that got from the construction field. The case indicates that the approach is some practical valuable.
