In recent years, with the fast development of science and technology along with the strengthening process of globalization, the competitions among corporations have become more and more fierce. In the meantime, more and more corporations have realized that their success depends on the establishment of the core competence. As the core employees are those who are the main creators for the corporation's profits and those who own the key knowledge and technology, in a certain degree, they are the important force in the construction of a corporation's core competence, or we can say, the core employees themselves are even the core competence for some corporations. For this reason, the competition of pursuing the talented persons has become gradually fierce and the core employees often become the targets of the competitive companies which will provide higher pay or higher position to attract the talented to join them. On the other hand, with the change of people's value, the whole society becomes impetuosity and material tended. Employee turnover, including core employee turnover, has become a rather universal phenomenon, even a serious problem which causes great trouble for many corporations.Of course, it is normal and quite necessary for a company to maintain a suitable turnover rate, since it can strengthen the company's vigor; improve the employee's activity and so on. But we should also pay attention to the excessive turnover rate, which will not only affects the normal production and operating activities of an enterprise, lower the efficiency, but also take great loss to the company. Owing to the differences between core employees and ordinary ones, core employee turnover will bring the company unthinkable cost. The cost mainly embodies the explicit part, which is easily to be measured, and the intangible cost, which is harder to imagine and count. Therefore, the employee s' excessive turnover, especially the core ones' turnover, has become a more and more serious problem in the management of a company all over the world. This may bring the company unimaginable loss and many kinds of problems in its management activities, like discouraging other employees' morale and production efficiency, weakening its core competence, cutting down its profits and so on. It is said that the labor market is the fiercest one in the latest years, so it is a key problem for a company to succeed in the challenging environment whether it can maintain its core employees or not.Based on the above, this paper takes the core employee as the object of the research, and combines theoretical study with empirical study. Firstly, the author gives a relative elaboration on the connotation and characteristics of the core employee, along with the patterns in employee turnover and so on. In the following parts a systematic summary of the relative theories both at home and abroad is presented in order to help us learn the previous studies on this field. On the basis of the above theoretical study, the author tries to offer a new model of the core employee turnover in our country. At last, the author makes a analysis of the possible factors that may cause the core employee turnover and provides some constructive suggestions for the company in order to avoid such phenomenon, which, to some extent, are very useful and meaningful.
